so wayyy back in the day when the PlayStation 3 launched, the XMB would turn black at nighttime, and it looked real nice. unfortunately, this got removed in version 3.00 of the firmware, after which it would only turn into a very dark variant of the current color.
there have always been XMB mods for modded consoles that can restore it, but i've always noticed how they're often missing the blue-ish tint that the original used to have. so, after some research on how it's done, i managed to port over the 1.02 black XMB myself! take a look:
